Ms. Parker has been the General Music and Chorus Director at King Philip Middle School since 2009.  Prior to her work at KPMS, she lived in Chicago, IL where she was an active performer, private voice teacher and interim choral/general music teacher at Cooper Middle School in Buffalo Grove, IL.  Since coming to KPMS, she has led the chorus to receive one silver and one gold medal at the prestigious MICCA festival.  In April 2010, the choir performed at Symphony Hall in Boston, a first in KPMS choral history where they were applauded for their "vocal clarity and strong singing."  Ms. Parker's teaching focuses on the importance of building a healthy vocal technique and exposing students to diverse, quality repertoire while discovering the joy and transformative power of choral singing.  Ms. Parker received her Bachelor of Music Education Magna Cum Laude from DePaul University.  She currently lives in Cambridge, MA where she enjoys running, hiking, cooking and reading in her free time.
